Blog Post #5

The first interesting thing I learned in this chapter was that Mary-Kate ad Ashley Olsen are actually faternal twins and not identical twins. They share no more genes than any other sibling pair. This shocked me because I have sisters and we don't even look as alike as the Olsen twins do.

Another thing I learned was that children who are adopted will have personalities that are from heredity. They get their personalities from their bilogical parents. This does not mean that adoptive parenting is pointless. This may limit the family's influence n personality but parents influence a child's additude, values, manners, faith, and politics. This was interesting to me because my sisters and I all have different personalities but our values, faith, and most of our manners are the same.

Temperament also intrigued me. An infant's temperament is their emotional excitability- whether reactive, intense, adn fidgety, or easygoing, quiet, adn placid. This was interesting because my niece is 2 years old, I clearly remember her as a baby when I had to watch her. She was an Easy baby, as in she was cheerful, relaxed, adn predictable in her feeding and sleeping. She is still the same way now, however, she is more intense now and likes to scream and cry when she doesn't get her way.

From the Nature vs. Nurture assignment I realized how my parents do influence my decisions and how I go about my every day life. Parenting does matter and is ever so helpful.

  1. I was also surprised to find out that Mary-Kate and Ashley were not identical twins. They look almost exactly alike. It's weird how some siblings just look so much alike and others you would never guess they are related.
