Before I read the first chapter, I just thought that psychology was the study of one's mind and their behavior. Now, after readind chapter 1, i realize that psychology is involved in almost everything. Every little thing we do and the actions we take everyday are all psychological. Our attitudes, common sense, even the career path we choose are all psychological. Psychology affects my life in more ways than i thought. It affects my relationships with friends and family, my common sense, my morals, the way I solve problems with critical thinking, how I react to certain situations, even my moods.
One thing that I learned that surprised me, was what psychology's critical inquiry has been able to find. For instance, within days, newborns can recognize their mother's odor and voice. Critical inquiry has also debunked presumptions like how opposites do not generally attract. Another thing that i learned was that even words we use to describe something can reflect our values. This is intriguing to me because we all do use different words to describe different things. How I describe the life of a bird would be complete different to the way someone else describes it.

Aleena! I also find it very interesting how quickly newborns adapt and recognize their mothers! It is very fascinating and I hope we learn more about it!
